TRUMP ADMINISTRATION BROKERS HISTORIC PEACE IN MIDDLE EAST

New York’s 3rd Congressional District, September 17, 2020 – On Tuesday, a historic agreement known as the “Abraham Accords” was signed between Israel, the UAE, and Bahrain, drastically improving relations in the region and beyond. Of the Accord, President Trump remarked, “After decades of division and conflict, we mark the dawn of a new Middle East.” This vision of a “new Middle East” is one where Jewish, Christian, and Arab peoples co-exist without the looming threat of war casting an imperishable shadow.

“Normalizing relations between Israel and majority-Muslim nations is a massive step in the right direction for peace in the Middle East. After years of war and bloodshed, it is refreshing to see an administration take a new approach to resolving the conflict. This approach clearly recognizes Israel’s sovereignty and allows global growth from a novel angle. If it was not clear before, it is clear now: President Trump and the Republican Party are the pro-Israel Party,” says NY-3 Congressional candidate George Santos.

Of the deal, Prime Minister Netanyahu said, “For thousands of years, the Jewish people have prayed for peace; for decades the Jewish state has prayed for peace; and this is why today we are filled with such profound gratitude.”

“The Jewish people have endured so much pain and suffering throughout their long and remarkable history. As the grandchild of grandparents who endured the Holocaust, my family has witnessed the depravity and evilness directed toward the Jewish people firsthand. It is our job as legislators— and even more importantly, as human beings—to forever stand with the Jewish state of Israel,” says NY-3 Congressional Candidate George Santos.
