DEMOCRATIC SILENCE IN THE FACE OF POLICE KILLINGS SPEAKS LOUDER THAN ANY WORDS THEY UTTER

New York’s 3rd Congressional District, September 16, 2020 – Federal Officer Dave Patrick Underwood, Officer Cody Holte, Officer Christopher Ryan Walsh, and Deputy Ryan Hendrix are just a few of the dozens of police officers either wounded or killed in the line of duty throughout the country. More recently was the horrific shooting of two LA police officers who, sitting in their patrol car, were targeted for simply being police officers.

“The demonization of our police must end. These brave men and women risk their lives every day for our families,” said NY-3 Congressional candidate George Santos.

“Tom Suozzi has been silent on this issue. He neither publicly backs the police nor the Black Lives Matter organization, thinking he can straddle the fence. When politics is your North Star, you inevitably contradict yourself. Suozzi goes on “Morning Joe” and claims to be an honorary member of the Squad and now can’t contradict them. How uncomfortable this must be for Suozzi to try to retain his ‘moderate’ brand while joining arms with the Squad. This isn’t just politics as usual, though. We are at an inflection point in this country and it’s very clear: you either support law and order or support lawlessness and mayhem. Suozzi has made his position clear with his silence,” says NY-3 Congressional candidate George Santos.
