Impending Storm Puts PSEG in the Hot Seat Again

New York’s 3rd Congressional District, October 29, 2020 – With Hurricane Zeta currently hitting much of Louisiana and surrounding areas with heavy rain and wind, New Yorkers are bracing for its arrival over the weekend. Rain and wind are forecasted for much of the tri-state area, and utility companies such as PSEG will once again be put to the test after several failures to react to power outages over the summer.

“Since Tropical Storm Isaias left over 400,000 people without power for weeks, Long Islanders are now scared that PSEG will fail them yet again this upcoming weekend. It is not acceptable to let residents go even a day without power, and my entire campaign staff will monitor the situation as it plays out. We pray that no significant damage will come out of this storm and caution all residents to be smart and stay safe,” says NY-3 Congressional candidate George Santos.

“The fast-approaching election adds another concern about the impending storm this weekend. If power should go out, PSEG has a civic duty to restore it before people head to the polls on Tuesday. I will do everything within my power to ensure that by Election Day power is up and running for all Long Islanders. Voting should be the only thing on people’s minds on Tuesday, not a days-long blackout,” says Santos.
